I have downloaded the tar-based installation for i386-linux and the
installation succeeded up to the point of writing the configuration file
(note: I have set my prefix to /mnt/data/applications/fpc/2.6.0):

It says "command not found", but at that path the "samplecfg"
application does indeed exist and does have it's executable bit set.
I personally don't mind that it wasn't able to execute, cause thus my
2.4.4 configuration wasn't screwed (I again forgot to save that ^^), but
I thought that I should mention this.
