Furhter to the above - I've got some feedback from a BeOS dev list, and at
least one positive response including an offer of some help.

My plan is to get a very simple prototype working, and to then put it
opensource, LGPL'd, probably on sourceforge.

I remember somebody mentioning the BeOS port being integrated into the FPC
chain - will there be a binary distro at some point on the FPC page? If you
want help getting a software valet package (the standard BeOS package/distro
format) I can help out. I've BeOS on both my desktop and work laptop, any
time/place etc ;)
