Just to let you know:

Karlheinz did get Lazarus working on the BBB with Debian. He just 
installed the Debian package for Lazarus. He was able to edit, compile 
and debug a test program.

Compiling Lazarus does not work due to lack of memory (the BBB has 500 
MB and no Swap configured), when the GUI (Gnome) is running. After 
stopping the GUI Lazarus can be compiled. So installing new Lazarus 
packages (he needs Synapse and maybe Indy) might be a little bit more 
work than on a PC.
