On fpc-pascal, there was a short conversation earlier this month,
about the FloatView unit that I developed for getting to the internals
of floating-point numbers (Subject: License question; unit to view
floating-point details).
There seemed to be an interest in incorporating it somehow into
one of the FreePascal libraries. I have put it under Contributed
Units > Miscellaneous.
BTW, I checkmarked e-mail notification when contributing, but never saw
anything of that; is it switched off?
You can find the sources and (modified LGPL) license here:
<http://www.win.tue.nl/~wstomv/software/float-view/>
The two zip archives there are identical, and contain all the material.
I don't have enough knowledge of FPC to do the integration.
(And others probably have little time. :-)
Anyway, it is available.
Best regards,
Tom
