You could try to run the install program with "-l" parameter to get
install.log created (in the same directory). However, it might be empty anyway
(but it would at least show how far it gets - if it isn't created at all, it's
some kind of information too) - anyway, either send the created file, or a
note that it wasn't created at all. I'll potentially build a debug version of
the install program and send it to you. I'd need to know your OS/2 version
(including installed fixpacks) too.

This isn't related - this build is a native one (at least with regard to API
functions used in RTL etc.), no EMX functions are used, i.e. no possibility to
run created executables under DOS (as opposed to previous builds, where at
least base RTL supported both - however, FV was never working under DOS
anyway). As a temporary workaround (to get FPC installed, so you can continue
in your testing), you could use the GO32v2 install program
(ftp://ftp.freepascal.org/pub/fpc/beta/i386-go32v2-1.9.6/separate/install.exe).
