I may have misread or may be misinformed. But: divergence between  win32 
and .net was on the roadmap..
And what's wrong with buying in to a dedicated project. It is sound 
business if the product is tops. Sounder than Kylix at the time. 
(although imho that business was - still is -sound, but technically 
poorly implemented)
