I'm not a huge fan of the style used in the compiler, but am I 
complaining? I'm even trying to concentrate as good as possible to 
adhere to the style used there, so that the changes I want to see merged 
are indeed merged.

You and I are not the "masters" of these projects, so we can not decide 
which style to use. And a consistent style throughout a project (e.g. 
the compiler or fpdoc) is important. "When in Rome do as the Romans do"
