I think you are under a misapprehension. I am not using Atom as an IDE, and
have no plans to do so.  I have even less plans to switch to VS Code, unless
forced for some project.
I don't subscribe to the 'One Editor To Rule Them All' dogma.
I use various editors, each has its strengths.
The world would be a sorry place if we all had to do the same thing.
(dying excepted, of course, seeing this is inevitable...)
