As the IDE uses the same definitions for (on a desktop) designing the 
GUI for a project as the runtime of the project need in the browser, the 
LCL "web" Widget type would need to be sufficiently compatible with the 
existing desktop variants.

I suppose a lot of work would be creating the decently compatible 
widgets to run in the browser. Maybe this can be based on the "custom 
drawn" widget type, as same is done in pascal and now in fact can run in 
the browser.
