Actually, there's some recent drama in the Rust world, that some Rust
purists are really against the GNU Rust/GCCrs project. :) (Basically the
Rust version of what GNU Pascal wanted to be.) And Python has multiple
implementations as well. But I get your point, there's still a single one
that de-facto defines the language. In our case this was Delphi for a long
time... Even if Pascal goes back way before Delphi (and BP/TP before
that), of course.
But it's hard to be the smaller alternative, yet still advocate for the
greater good.
