I meant that I will not take into account the existence of a textmode IDE
when writing documentation. For API reference docs, this is OK since they
are generated from the sources, but not for the manuals.

As far as I'm concerned, a HTML version of the docs is still a courtesy 
towards some people, never a goal or requirement.
