Sure, but look at the lone wolf 3 site in the gallery. Try that with VB ;-)
Same with Pixel32, because it runs cross-platform. Try that with VB ;-)

Anyway, I absolutely approve of your eye-candy contest. 
I was just pointing out some additional arguments... :-)
