Personally I'd work on crosscompiling 2.x to NetBSD, and not attempt
1.0.x->2.0.0 re-bootstrapping. 

Otherwise you are wasting time on making temporary workarounds for this
bootstrap, that are not necessary anymore after a 2.0 is available.
