If Lazarus was written in Java or Smalltalk, I might be able to help
out. But given that I'm not an experienced Pascal (nor GTK+)
programmer...

Although it's a very unfortunate bug, it's not the end of the world.
I'll just do what I usually do: Use fpc+Emacs :)
