[fpc-pascal] array of Char -> String conversion

Hi,

is there a standard routine that converts an "array of Char" type to a 
(Short)String of the same length as the Char-array?

The automatic conversion of the compiler seems to treat it as 
null-terminated C-string, which is not what I want.
