[fpc-pascal]Dowload problems on freepascal ftp site and mirrors

Hi,
There seems to be a strange problem with the freepascal FTP site, as
well as mirrors. I tested both ftp://www.us.freepascal.org and
ftp://www.nl.freepascal.org

While I had no trouble downloading from them via a browser, I does not
seem to work at all with wget. 
Wget connects, CWD's and attempts to RETR, but fails with the error
permission denied.

Does anybody know why this could happen ?
