Accidentally, but braindead antivirus-software writers are to blame.

A virus uses random emails (as sender address) to send email. So some
infected computers may send an email as "fpc-pascal".

At the receiver of the email, the antivirus detects the virus, and then
sends back a message to the "sender" email, without checking if the IP
of the sender is in the same domain as the last part of the email.

So the virusses never were in the list (the ones we saw were probably
different ones), but the antivirus spams the list anyways.
