I guess improving GTK+ and LibGlade support (even Glade itself) or working harder
on Lazarus would do more to FPC GUI apps and multiplataform compatibility
than the .NET framework. Real multiplataform apps like Mozilla and Gimp
were build on GTK+ and develop for it is faily easy.
Using GTK+ on Windows does add a lot of DLLs but provides native plataform
performance and if you wish you can use also native Windows APIs alongside
GTK+.
