[fpc-pascal]1.0.6 doesn't work

Hi,

today i tried to update to fpc 1.0.6, 
but i can't get it going (Linux).

When I call fpc, it simply returns without saying nothing.
It also doesn't react on any parameters - it simply returns.

What I've done:
- Downloaded fpc-1.0.6-1.i386.rpm
- removed old fpc package
- converted the redhat package to a slackware package
- installed the package
- ran /usr/lib/fpc/1.0.6/samplecfg /usr/lib/fpc/1.0.6

What could be the error?
