[fpc-pascal]PING

Hello fpc-pascal,

I want to make a program in Free Pascal (Linux) that does the same as
the Linux "ping" command (pinging a host and measure the time it
takes, if the host is reached).

Somebody already made a program like that? Or maybe where I can find
some information about how it works?

I took a look at a C source for a ping program, but it's a bit
difficult to understand how it works using that source, because many
different options are implemented.

traceroute would be interesting as well, but ping is the one i really
need now.
