It is not really necessary, but it is better as you can use the 1.0.4
as a fallback. The snapshots and official distribution can be used
concurrently, as each is installed in it's own directory.

Does not matter, FPC is not tied to a distribution. The RPM should work
on Redhat, Suse and mandrake.
