Free Pascal is a 32, 64 and 16 bit professional Pascal compiler that can
target many processor architectures: Intel x86 (including 8086),
AMD64/x86-64, PowerPC, PowerPC64, SPARC, ARM, AArch64, MIPS and the JVM.
It supports Linux, FreeBSD, Haiku, Mac OS X/iOS/iPhoneSimulator/Darwin,
DOS (16 and 32 bit), Win32, Win64, WinCE, OS/2, MorphOS, Nintendo GBA,
Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Android, AIX and AROS. Additionally, support
for the Motorola 68k architecture is available in the development versions.

Today in Tech - 1965

On this day in 1965 the very first PhD dissertation in Computer Science
was presented by Richard L. Wexelblat, a former computer scientist who
henceforth earned the first degree in Computer Science. While many
others had performed computer-related work, Wexelblat was the first to
complete his doctoral dissertation at a formally recognized Computer
Science program at the University of Pennsylvania. Wexelblat went on to
author ‘History of Programming Languages’, before leaving the computer
field to become an artisanal woodturner. Learn more about the first
