I see a bit of a risk here though.
By teaching this to students they will be "pre-judged" and learning a
certain way of thinking about computer micro architecture and might
deprive/take away creative solutions/approaches from them to micro
architecture design.
But I guess it's better than nothing ! ;)
Perhaps a better approach could be to:
1. First teaches them about programming and every abstract concept about
computer programming.
and then
2. Try and have them design their own micro architecture as good as it goes.
If they fail at 2.
Then see where they fail and try to help out at those points.
Perhaps this will lead to more creative and innovative approaches/solutions
! ;)
