Note that "reporter" means that somebody's not a manager of the bug
tracker. The designation covers a lot of people who are regular
contributors to- and testers of- the core FPC code, and it's probably
unfair for somebody to accuse one of them of trolling without
considering that.
Having said that, I think that the OP would possibly have made a bit
more headway if he'd reported it as a simple regression against the 2016
version of the compiler. I have to say that I don't think Thaddy has
exactly helped things by implying that a 64-bit double is converted into
an 80-bit extended on an architecture which doesn't support that type.
