I understand all this, and for the most part I agree, but...

That requires too many IFDEFs. :\, even [ref] syntax is more readable than
tons of IFDEFs. Just look at Generics.* code... I'd like to see only one
exception for [ref] as alternate syntax for constref to get more clear code
and easier to maintenance.
