BTW:

The PCB I use has as well the said FIDO chip as a PIC32. We did not yet 
decide which of the chips would be our favorite to run the ported Pascal 
code.

The PIC32 has a MIPS32 M4K architecture and can do MIPS16e mode if desired.

I remember that a MIPS port is in the works, as well.

Do you know anything about it's state ?
