There is no incompatibility. There is choice.
People who wish to port Delphi code should use {$mode delphi}.
And from what I see, people that come from Delphi automatically use $mode delphi.
Good, that is what it is for.
I fully agree with you that Delphi mode should try and be as Delphi compatible as possible.
All that is being argued is that there must be the choice to have another mode where people
that do not care or agree with Delphi, can implement things the way they think it should be done.
FPC is as old as Delphi.
I think that gives us the right of speech and the right to voice our own opinion.
