This doesn't solve the order-sensitivity of the used units :-(

I've observed that effect already, and it may occur again at any later 
time. So the current code works as-is, and *only* as-is, so that it is 
near a dead end WRT to further development. That's why I feel an urgent 
need for combing out such bugs, independently from any other goals.
