As discussed recently, it supposedly _can_ be improved even without
completely removing the libc-pthreadlib dependency (e.g. for X86/32
using FS in Windows and GS in Linux according to how MS-C and GNU-C do
threadvars) but this is a little bit kind of a hack, relying on the
(quite secure) assumption that the not officially documented behavior of
Windows and the (documented) behavior of libc do not change in Future on
all supported architectures.
