I don't have an opinion on the current discussion, but you are  
comparing apples to oranges here. This discussion is about extending  
base classes of the RTL. The other discussion was about a fix for a  
bug in the typing system of the compiler (a bug that simply had to be  
fixed to make the language's typing system sound again).
