How do we want to install compiled executables? And when? Are they part
of the documentation? Where do we want to install them? On Windows I
would say in a sub-dir of the documentation. But on Unices?

You can always start with a add-in. If it's general enough it can be
included with fpmkunit. Note that adding an extra dependency (rstconv)
is something we shouldn't do easily.
