Picked this up in a NG, a bit low on detail though. Maybe some DPMI problems
fixed?

Hi all,
Frank Schoonjans has kindly tried running one of my DOS32 programmes
under VirtualPC/Windows-98 and under a Windows-Vista Bèta. Both
worked.
Today I went to the HCC-dagen in Utrecht, a huge computer fair
organized by the largest computer users group in the world, the Dutch
Hobby Computer Club (HCC).
At the stand of the DOS SIG I was allowed to try two of my
StonyBrook-M2 DOS32 programs on a Vista computer. I wanted to see for
myself the difference with XP.
Both worked fine.
For me this is a very pleasant surprise, as they did nothing at all in
a Windows-XP Command Prompt window.
Apparently, Microsoft has repaired the shortcomings of the XP Command
Prompt, so now we can use our DOS32 progammes again.
Hurray!
(Some older DOS games do not run under XP either. I regularly see
complaints about this. I do not know how Vista is handling them. has
anybody tried? Just curious, not very interested in computer games as
such.)
I will upgrade to Vista as soon as it is released!
Kind regards from Amsterdam,
Rob van Albada.
