[fpc-devel] Classes unit based on fgl

Hi,

Since this weekend the classes unit is based upon the fgl unit. What are the
advantages of this change.

Does it make the code in the classes unit (for example TFPList, TList and
TStringList) faster or does this just improve maintainability, e.g. because changes
made in the fgl unit are automatically propagated to the lists in classes unit?

Is there any time frame on a bug fix for
http://www.freepascal.org/mantis/view.php?id=7910. This prevents compiling Lazarus
with fpc 2.1.1. With this FGL change and the changes of last night in the resource
strings, there are already two possible places for regressions. This might make
things difficult when 7910 is finally fixed and I can compile Lazarus again, but not
run it because of a bug in any of these (or other) things that have changed since
last successful build.

Vincent
