[fpc-devel] Compiler message colour scheme

I'd say thie first port of call is "compiler/comphook.pas", line 258:

procedure WriteColoredOutput(var t: Text;color: TOutputColor;const s : 
AnsiString);

It looks like a simple "$if defined".
