Nothing has changed recently.

Neither DWARF 3 nor DWARF 4 supports properties. I'm not aware of anyone submitting a proposal to add them to the DWARF standard either. See e.g. http://dwarfstd.org/ShowIssue.php?issue=090303.1&type=closed3 for an example of how to request an additional feature in the next DWARF standard.
