Strings seem to be a general problem for numeric machines :D<br></blockquote><div><br>I like the idea to try to represent visually (using a drawing) the implications of a technical choice for strings encoding,<br>I guess it would be interesting to draw 2 pictures:<br>
1. the technical areas covered for every type of string encoding (kinda similar to the graph you provided),<br>2. the volumes of data managed by the different encoding <br><br>this may provide some perspectives in the discussion in order for every developer to build their own personal opinion on the question of the choice for string encoding,<br>
