i'm posting here precisely because we are now approaching 2006 and<br>
binutils linking for AMD64/WIN64 is already not resolved !<br>
<br>
this create a kind of bottlneck and is a blocking point for thousands higher level<br>
applications open and closed sources. It is a show stopper.<br>
<br>
as you know working on a linker is very different of higher level programming,<br>
it's short programs but deep os/cpu knowledge is required.<br>
<br>
i was hoping that AMD could GIVE A HAND because promoting the target AMD64/WIN64 is promoting also the CPU. <br>
<br>
finishing the actual port represent probably less than hundred hours for some<br>
AMD64 software engineer, from the cost point of view "it's not burning the house" <br>
and could INVISIBLE in actual marketing/promotion budget !<br>
<br>
plus PE format is also used in WinCE OS, perhaps one days there will be 64 bits cpu for embeded systems :)<br>
