I disagree.

If I develop, I try to avoid errors always. Therefore hints and
warnings are always enabled on my system.

Your suggestion have a furthermore problem. If I enable the hints only
to check for potential errors, I need to analyse all hints every time.
This cause many more effort. I prefer to analyse the potential problem
once and remove the problem or hide the hint, if there is not any
problem.
