[fpc-devel]Up-to-date working single source archive ?

Hi,

I am trying to update the packages of fpc in Mandrake Linux Cooker for
the upcoming 9.2 release.

First problem is that there does not seem to be a place I can find a
single source tarball for the current release. I could use the zip
files, but it isn't ideal ... I would have to convert them all to bzip2 etc.

Secondly, the source archive in the SRPM on the mirrors is corrupt:

The md5sum on the srpm checks out (BTW, it might be an idea to sign the
RPMs ...):
$ rpm -K fpc-1.0.10-0.src.rpm
fpc-1.0.10-0.src.rpm: md5 OK

the SRPM installs:
$ rpm -ivh fpc-1.0.10-0.src.rpm
   1:fpc                    ###########################################
[100%]

But the tarball won't unpack:

$ tar -tzf `rpm --eval %_sourcedir`/fpc-1.0.10-src.tar.gz
Makefile
Makefile.fpc
compiler/
compiler/Makefile
compiler/Makefile.fpc

...

utils/tply/yaccpars.pas
utils/tply/yaccsem.pas
utils/tply/yacctabl.pas

gzip: stdin: decompression OK, trailing garbage ignored
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Would it be possible to address this issue?

In the meantime I may try checking out a copy from CVS, but it would
make life much more pleasant for packagers if you had a single place to
find a source package. This may be one of the reasons that fpc is
outdated in many linux distributions ...
