[fpc-devel]Are so many files necessary?

Hello All,
I downloaded 1.1 source and found in compiler.zip many precompiled
.ppu/.o files. Are they necessary here? I agree, at least startups for
Linux in RTL source are a good idea for using FPC as cross-compiler
 Win32 -> Linux because their asm sources cannot be compiled with asw,
but what is the mean to upload precompiled parts of compiler in the
same file as its source code? Total size of compiler.zip is 3706950
